SHOH36 » May, 2007 Respondents were asked if thy thought Americans would accept a presidential candidate who was black, a woman, wealthy, has used marijuana and cocaine, smokes tobacco, is 72 years old, has lived in Washington more than 20 years, has not no government experience, adopted a black child or voted for the Iraq war. Respondents overwhelmingly thought wealthy person wuld be accepted, but other items tended to be negative.
Respondents were asked how much math, science and foreign language they took in high school, whether they wished they had taken more and whether or not they found what they learned in these subjects useful in their lives.

The survey also asked respondents to compare the Silent Generatiopn, the Baby Boom Generation and Generatiion X. Generaiion X clearly trailed the other two on a n umber of factors including thir contribution to society and their music

SHOH21 » October, 2002 This survey included questions on U.S. foreign policy, politicians, women politicians specifically, and upcoming traditional holidays in the U.S. Interviews with 1001 persons were conducted Oct. 13-28, 2002. Demographic data for the survey are included in the attached SPSS files. The poll has an overall 4 percentage point margin of error, although the margin increases when examining attitudes among smaller groups within the survey. The margin for women only, for example, is 6 percent.
